Q. Who is Jim Dandy Boxes, Inc.?
A. We are a family owned manufacturer of corrugated packaging products, located in Grand Prairie, Texas. For a look at our history, click here.
Q. What kind of boxes do you make?
A. We make all kinds of corrugated products, such as shipping boxes, product packaging, P.O.P. displays, and specialty items made to order.
Q. What is your minimum order for boxes?
A. We can make any quantity of boxes you require. However, very small quantities (below 100 for shipping boxes), will need to be made on our CAD/CAM table, and are priced in a different manner than press made boxes. Ask one of our Packaging Consultants for complete details.
Q. How long will it take to make my order?
A. For standard style shipping boxes that don’t require tooling, boxes can be ready to ship in 3-5 business days after approval of a pre-production sample, if necessary. For projects requiring full color graphics or complex manufacturing processes, allow 2-3 weeks.
Q. Can I have a sample made and sent to me?
A. Yes, for most boxes we can make samples on our CAD/CAM table. There is a cost for samples, based on the size and style of box. However, if you place an order for a production run of 100 or more boxes within 30 days of your sample order, we will credit you for the cost of the samples, minus the shipping cost. Samples with printing and/or graphics are available. Ask one of our Packaging Consultants for complete details.
Q. Will I have to pay tooling or set up costs?
A. There are two answers to this question. First, for standard styles of shipping boxes (see the Industrial / Commercial page), there are no tooling or set up cost. For items that have unusual shapes or self locking features, a cutting die is required (See “Die Cut Items” at the bottom of the Industrial / Commercial page). For more info on tooling, click here.
Q. What about printing plates?
A. Other corrugated companies use outside trade shops to make printing plates. These trade shops charge the corrugated companies, who in turn must charge you, the customer. At Jim Dandy Boxes, we have been making our own printing plates in-house for over 25 years. In most cases, you will not be charged for flexographic printing plates for most items*. Ask one of our Packaging Consultants for complete details.
Q. Will I pay for shipping or delivery?
A. If you are in the D/FW metro area, and are in a commercial location with a loading dock, there is no additional cost for delivery. Outside of D/FW, all prices are F.O.B. origin. We have generous discounts with several freight carriers who ship to almost any point in the continental US, as well as Fedex Ground for small orders. Or, you may send any carrier of your choice. We will be happy to provide a shipping estimate anytime you wish.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept payment by major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. We also accept cashier’s checks and company checks. Company checks must be cleared before product will be allowed to ship. Personal checks require the approval of the accounting department.
Q. Can our company get set up for term payment?
A. Due to the nature of custom manufacturing, and the complexities of Interstate collection procedures, we must limit our term payment accounts to Federal, state, county, and municipal agencies.
